The Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT and the Ministry of Secondary Education have come to a compromise to promote youth football in Cameroon.
This was the outcome of a one day meeting between FECAFOOT President, Samuel Eto’o and the Minister of Secondary Education, MINESEC, Prof. Nalova Lyonga on May 19, 2022 at the conference room of the Ministry in Yaounde.
Amongst the benefits of their agreement is to promote youth football like FENASCO games in secondary schools and other sectors.
The agreement is also aimed at selecting the best students to compete in the Africa Schools Championship.
“Across the country, there are thousands of young boys and girls with a dream to shine on the football pitch and compete with the best. It’s an honour to present a newly signed agreement between FECAFOOT – Official and MINESEC” Samuel Eto’o posted
According to Eto’o, it must be a collaborative effort to see Cameroonian youths be at the standard in the domain of sports in Africa.
“Together, we aim to accelerate the development of youth football in Cameroon, starting with this year’s Africa Schools Championship,” Eto’o added
Before meeting in May, the two personalities earlier met in April, where Prof. Nalova Lyonga expressed satisfaction and thanked Samuel Eto’o for all his efforts since he became president of the Cameroon Football Federation.
“We are so happy that we have somebody like you heading FECAFOOT because when we talk football, we talk the youth. We are producing the youth, you are producing the results,” Nalova Lyonga said
It is of course good news to Cameroonian youths in secondary schools who may soon start enjoying their inter-school games and other sporting activities.
