Asian Country Japan has solicited Cameroon with the sum of 750 million frs to elevate food production and security in Cameroon. This is the third time Japan is helping the country in the agricultural sector.
This grant will go as far as helping disabled persons and almost 750,000 people in Far North, Northwest, and Southwest. Pregnant women, children aged 6-5moñths, Breastfeeding mothers, and People living with HIV will be included in this program.
Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinmoun Oumarou says, this aid comes in time to help the disadvantaged population and ameliorate the crisis caused by Russia-Ukraine war.
“This new food aid is beneficial as it constitutes a breath of fresh air for the disadvantaged populations and the internally displaced in this current context of soaring prices of basic foodstuffs caused, among other things, by the crisis. Russian-Ukrainian,”
The project will benefit more than 260,000 food-insecure and vulnerable people and 159,000 farmers, herders, and fishers from crisis-affected communities based in the Far North, North, and North-West regions, South-West, Adamaoua, and East. In addition, the project will help increase productivity and access to markets in the agriculture, livestock, and fisheries sectors
