Cameroon’s legendary doorman, Fabrice Ondoua who was absent in the Indomitable Lions squad during the Africa Cup of Nations has been called up by the country’s new trainer, Rigobert Song.
Ondoua who was part of the 2017 squad that brought home the Africa Cup of Nations trophy from Gabon now stands as the second choice goalkeeper in the Indomitable Lion’s den.
Fabric Joseph Ebogo Ondoua joined Croatian club FC Auda recently after having gone several months without playing professional football.
Futbola Flubs Auda is a team in the second-highest division of Latvian football.
This was remarkable news to the keeper who had been for months without a club; causing his absence at the just rounded off AFCON 2021 games in Cameroon.
The 26-year-old is now back in action for the national team, and would be in a crucial encounter against Algeria.
Meantime, Rigobert Song has brought in new faces into the team that was previously controlled by Portuguese coach Antonio Conceicao.
Duplexe Tchamba, Jeando Fuchs, Jules Olivier Ntcham, Gael Ondoua, and Sacha Boey are all expected to revamp the Rigobert Song team.
The list of 38-man pre-selected players were made public this Monday March 7, 2022.
The Indomitable Lions will clash with Algeria on March, 25 and 29 to pick a spot in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
