For the past days, there has been an unquenchable curiosity in Cameroonians on the whereabout of transportation buses used during AFCON 2021 games in their country.
A total of 89 automobile buses were used to transport the teams that represented their countries alongside match officials.
Some online news outlets hold the speculation that the buses have been sold by big barons in the country.
Reports say a 30-seater AFCON bus was posted online for sale, a situation that has stirred the growing quest to know what actually happened to these cars which cost a fortune importing them into Cameroon.
To quash these flames, the Ministry of Transportation rapidly came up with an explanation of where the 89 buses are.
According to reports, the said ministry claimed all the buses were not bought since they were supposed to be used for a short time, adding that they have been returned to the agencies from which they were rented.
TWIF NEWS cannot independently say how authentic the information is, but months back, a 70-seater bus was spotted in an agency in the country’s political capital, Yaounde.
Despite the clarification from the Ministry of Transportation, the press is not satisfied given that
on December 21, 2021, a video was released showing the arrival of the buses at the Douala seaport.
