President of Cameroon’s football governing body, Samuel Eto’o has presented a road map of what it takes to build a solid and sustainable national football team.
Speaking at JNDA, Journées Nationale des Diaspora et D’Afrque recently, the football legend handled among other critical issues precluding the growth of African football, the idea of preferring foreign players over domestic talents.
The charismatic FECAFOOT boss intimated that, it is crucial to Valorize
local players who are born in Cameroon, over already made foreign stars.
Using the example of Cameroon-France football star Kylian Mbappe, Eto’o disclosed that, he prefers a Kylian born in Cameroon than the one born in Bordeaux, France.
“I do not want to have a Kylian Mbappé who was born in Bordeaux in our national team but to have Kylian Mbappé who was born in our cameroon neighborhoods because they a valuable talents in our territory,” He revealed.
The former Barca talisman further said that, he became who he is today just to inspire African youth to know that, there is still hope for the future
To Eto’o, many want victories now but he is working on a project for qualitative and sustainable results in the nearest future.
“We need time and patience to arrive safely,and we will,” he hopefully said.
President Samuel Eto’o delivered this powerful speech which many now consider as his road map to resuscitate Cameron’s football shortly before accompanying the Lions to Algiers for the last round world cup qualifier against Algeria Tuesday March 29 2022.
