Winners of the 2021 edition of the Cup Of Cameroon, PWD of Bamenda have continued to receive appreciations from Elite and supporters, with the recent gesture coming from the Baba 1 paramount ruler.
After dismantling ASTRES football club of Douala to win their first ever Cameroon Cup title, Fon Fuekemshi received the players in his second palace in Yaounde were he appreciated their display of bravery and professional football skills with the sum of 1.2million Franc.
The donation was made shortly after the Abakwa boys defeated the Brazilians of Bepanda at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium Sunday March 13 2022.
18 year old Chem Herbert, gave PWD the victory after a thunderous 18 minutes shot around the penalty spot, a score line which earned PWD their first ever Cameroon Cup trophy.
Sunday’s title added to a professional league top finish enjoyed by the Bamenda boys in 2020 after the season was forced to a halt as a result of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
The club has several names such are P-ton ton, Abakwa boys and remains one of the oldest clubs in country founded in 1967.
It is hoped that, the contributions from PWD supporters helps the team as it begins the long journey for the 2022 league season.
