3 girls in Buea, Cameroon’s Southwest Region have had a bad feast of Saint Valentine after discovering they were not the only lover to their boyfriend.
On February 13, less than 24 hours to the feast of St. Valentine, TWIF NEWS visited the workshop of a popular artist in Buea where the drama unfolded.
The Craftman, name withheld, recounted to TWIF NEWS how the 3 ladies on separate occasions all presented the picture of a young man with whom they were in love.
The first lady who thought she was the one and only woman to be married, had brought the picture to do a portrait for the man who she described as “handsome boy” in view of the Valentine’s Day.
The scene became dramatic when two other Buea damsels, at different times brought the same picture for the artist to produce two more portraits for the same person.
“I understood this was the beginning of Val’s Day war among the 3 beautiful ladies,” revealed the Craftman.
After producing the 3 portraits worth 200,000Frs each, they were displayed on the wall; probably to attract more customers.
One of the ladies came to collect her own paid portrait and discovered that they were 3 on the wall.
“Are all these 3 for me?” she anxiously questioned.
“How many did you pay for?,” he fired back at her.
At this juncture, the room became as hot as magma emanating from Mount Cameroon during an eruption.
While the lady kept pondering on the reality before her, the second damsel arrived to collect her own paid portrait.
“Why duplicate my product? I paid for a single portrait then how come you produced 3 without my consent?” she furiously interrogated.
It was the rising action in the drama building upto Val’s day 2022.
The artist, though worried, understood only a good response from him could prevent his workshop from being transformed into a boxing ring.
“Madam, I only produced what you paid for, and perhaps, more than one individual could give out a gift to the same person,” he spoke softly and gently.
Unable to control her emotions, the second lady started raining insults on the first damsel who had been patient to know why 3 instead of one portrait had been designed for her boyfriend.
As the ladies continued to quarrel each other, onlookers wandered what atmosphere would have prevailed if the ladies had clashed in the house of the fortunate man who was due to receive 3 portraits from 3 lovers on Val’s day.
