The General Manager of Equinoxe TV, who doubles as the publisher of La Nouvelle Expression newspaper, Severin Tchounkeu and his journalist/editor, Cedric Noufele have been sanctioned by the National Communication Council, NCC.
According to a press release from NCC, the head of Equinox TV, his journalist and their famous program “Droit de réponse” have been suspended for a month, and went into operation on April 1.
To to the Cameroon National Communication Council, Equinox television is guilty of broadcasting conflicting opinions in one of its programs and also for propagating the teachers’ strike action.
The information was made known Friday, April 1 during the 1 pm national radio news report on CRTV and a press release circulating online.
Since the sanction was made known, authorities of the people-centred television, Equinox are yet to comment on the issue.
