One of the CPDM representatives in the Senate, Regina Mundi who has been an internee of separatist fighters has finally been freed alongside other hostages.
Ambazonian Defense Forces, ADF gave an ultimatum for the Government to release all war criminals before the senator could be freed. The date set for the above order – May 20 passed but the Government remained mute.
Breaking Tuesday, May 3, news of Senator Regina Mundi made rounds on the media. According to information from Cameroon Military Communication Unit, the Military evaded the Separatist camp in Ashong-Batibo sub-region of Cameroon and rescued Mrs Regina Mundi along with several captives after hours of gunshots exchanges.
The hideout of the ADF was allegedly tip-off by distressed inhabitants of Batibo-Subdivision. This aided the smooth mission by Cameroon Military men who succeeded in rescuing the captives.
The confirmation of Senator Regina Mundi’s liberation was made known by the head of the Communication department of the Ministry of Defense, Captain Cyrille Serge Atonfack Guemo. Family members have added their voices to the shouting of praise to the Senators released making the news credible.
