The government of Cameroon has taken a step to assist the family of late Hamidou.
Hamidou was a sport and physical education teacher in Lycee de Beka in Garoua, North region who served for ten years without salary.
Hamidou was only noticed during the latest teachers’ strike, but he died a few weeks (March 8) after the protest.
After his sudden demise that many Cameroonians didn’t take it well, some took to social media platforms to criticize the government for being wicked toward the patriot.
On Sunday, March 27, Cameroon’s minister of public service and administrative reforms, Joseph LE visited the wife and family of late Hamidou. Minister LE handed the integration files of late Hamidou to his wife.
According to reports, his allowance and salary is under process and will be received by his family.
“Emotional meeting with the widow and other family members of late Hamidou in Garoua. Condolence from the presidential couple, the entire government. Administrative files handed so that its right holders can quickly realize what is coming for them,” Minister Joseph LE posted
Though the exact cause of Hamidou’s death is still not clear according to media reports, many have welcomed the move from the government to let his family receive what is available to him.
