Ghana’s Matilda Assabil has been ranged the youngest female footballer in the world.
The 10-year-old is the youngest female footballer who is presently playing at a senior level in the world.
The young Ghanaian made her debut in the Starlet Ladies FC after signing as a midfielder in the club.
News of her ranging was spread by sports brief Ghana, as the wonder girls’ picture flooded the media in the training ground before featuring for her club Starlet Ladies, in Ghana’s lower-tier league.
Matilda Assabil has now beat the world’s youngest female footballer record, which was held by American youngster Olivia Moultrie who debuted at the age of 15 in American club Portland Thorns against Racing Louisville on July 3rd, 2001.
