The current President of the football governing body in Cameroon, Samuel Etoo has officially taken over the leadership of the Cameroon Football Federation.
On December 11, 2021, Samuel Eto’o beats former President of Fecafoot Seidou Mbombo Nyoya 43 to 31 votes and emerged victorious in the election that was held at the hotel Mount Febe in Yaoundé, Centre region of Cameroon.
Since then the multi-football award winner has been governing activities in the football sector in Cameroon but has not been officially inducted as the President of the Fecafoot.
The handing over ceremony between incumbent Seidou Njoya and Samuel Eto’o took place on January 17 in the conference room of the Cameroon Football Federation, at Tsinga Yaoundé.
The 40 years old Barcelona star, with the help of the organising committee of the African Cup of nations COCAN, is the Vice President of the organizing committee of CAN ongoing on Cameroon soil.
Before becoming the Fecafoot head, Eto’o had a landmark in football history after playing for 14 clubs in Europe. Some of which include Barcelona, Inter Milan, Chelsea, etc. He is the highest goal scorer in the history of the indomitable lion squad.
