A 2-year-old baby has died owing to negligence from a Nurse who was placed on duty at the time.

The incident happened on April 14 at the Biyem-Assi health district, Yaoundé, Cameroon’s political capital.

As Beta tinz and online media, the Nurse had administered an injection to the sick child but forgot to untie the rope she used to look for the child’s vein before the administration.

The negligence was noticed following the arrival of the child’s mother who was taking care of her two other children since she had triplets and all of them were sick.

Out of frustration, the Mother of the baby alerted the entire staff to rescue the child by cutting the arm which had been clotted with blood.

However, all efforts to save the child’s life were fruitless. Since the incident, the nurse accused of causing the child’s death has not shown up at the health facility.
