Ambazonia Defense Force (ADF) has tabled conditions to the Chairman of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, President Biya before the release of Senator Regina Mundi of the political party.

The Senator was whisked on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Foncha Street, Bamenda, and taken to an unknown destination.

The ADF have claimed responsibility for the kidnap.

According to a statement from ADF’s spokesman, Capo Daniel, Senator Mundi will be released only when President Biya releases Nfor Ngala, Chairman of the SCNC
alongside 75 Anglophone detained in various prisons in Cameroon.

In a video released on May 01, the captured Senator denounced her position by joining the Ambazonians to fight for their integrity.

“I, Madam Regina Mundi, an Ambazonian by birth and nationality, today April 30, 2022, resign and join my brothers to fight and push ‘La Republique du Cameroun’ out of our territory,” she read from a piece of paper.

“We ask ‘La Republique du Cameroun’ to maintain their boundaries…We should note that it is our right to fight and maintain our territorial integrity” she said.

Since the inception of the ongoing war in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon, Ambazonians have used kidnap as a strategy to press for demands from the President of the republic, Paul Biya.

Politicians especially of the rulling CPDM are some of those who have suffered the brunt of the the armed conflict.

Civilians on their part have suffered the consequences of military retaliation and have equally been targeted by Ambazonian Fighters.

Many are longing for a return to peace and serenity in the conflict-stricken regions.
