Master’s degree students of International Relations and Conflict Resolution in the University of Buea (UB), have affirmed their identity as one people in an electrifying local friendly football match.
The students of both programmes which constitute one of the newest departments in UB, on Saturday July 18, thrilled spectators with an absolutely exceptional football encounter.
For 90 minutes, International Relations students battled against their counterparts of Conflict Resolution, in what could be termed a clash of great titans.
Indeed it was a meeting of Lions, that generated fireworks. The game culminated in a 2-2 draw.
One of the players of International Relations, Ayuk Clovis, described the match as a new beginning for the department steered by Professor Nsoh Christopher.
Saturday’s game provided a platform for students of the two post- graduate programmes to map out a new foundation on unity, love and togetherness. They solidified the togetherness by converging on a nearby restaurant to dine and wine with one another.
During the said merriment, the need for disability friendliness among students of the two programmes was brought to the fore by one of the participants who stressed that “inclusion should be one of the pillars of the newly found union.”
At the end of the festivity, the academic enthusiasts unanimously agreed that yet a more intriguing and mouthwatering solidarity match will precede an end of year gala slated for August 2020.
Meantime, some students told TWIF NEWS on the sidelines of the convention, that the August gathering will spark more flames if the father of the Department of International Relations and Conflict Resolution, Professor Nsoh Christopher Ndikum, is conspicuously present to lead his flock to pasture.
