The minister of secondary education has decreed that girls who are pregnant will henceforth be allowed to attend class on campus till a certain level.
This latest information is content in a press release signed by the minister of secondary education, Professsor Nalova Lyonga.
“I have been informed about the way school authorities handle cases of early pregnancy in schools. Pregnant students are usually dismissed from both government and private schools,” a section of the press release reads
The minister has urged school authorities to allow students who have been confirmed pregnant to continue with school activities until the 26th week of pregnancy.
The minister has also asked pregnant students to return to school after giving birth, making sure that their health and working conditions are fine.
Minister Nalova has also authorized all school authorities to take appropriate measures against any teacher who is responsible for student’s pregnancy.
