The Governor of the South West region, Bernard Okalia Bilai has swung into action to execute the measures set up by the government to encourage massive participation in field when AFCON matches are going on.
In a press release signed by South West Chief Executive Officer on January 19, he reminded civil servants and state employees within the South West region and Fako division in particular that they should respect the Prime Minister’s order.
On the Head of States instructions, Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute had ordered the reduction of working hours during the ongoing AFCON period from 17 January to 4 February 2022.
According to the Prime Minister’s order, schools have to close at 1 pm, while offices close at 2 pm.
This order is to compel the population to go watch AFCON matches, after a poor record of fans were record during the past matches.
Governor Bernard Okala Bilai Senior Divisional Officers, Divisional Officers and other authorities to follow up the order for implementation.
