A male infant 72-hour-old is under careful examination in Banekane, Bangante Cameroon’s West Region after being unearthed 24hrs he was laid to rest alive by his mother.
TWIF NEWS learned the child was buried on April 13 under a tree near an uncomplicated construction site by the mother, said to be an Internally Displaced Person, IDP.
Information has it that, the 33-years-old mother gave birth on April 13 and disappeared the child underground alive.
However, the action could not go unnoticed as her husband on April 14, found her childless in the stomach and notified neighbours who later dragged her for interrogation.
Following the questioning and pressure meted on her, the nursing mother took them to the location she buried the baby.
Irrespective of her intentions, the baby boy was exhumed alive though unconscious. Following medical intervention at a hospital in Bangante, a few days old baby regained consciousness and is said to be doing well under observation.
Meanwhile, the mother has been detained by the forces of law and order questioned. It is alleged that she told officers of the Law that she was ashamed putting to birth to another child while nursing a one-year-old child.
