A 20-year-old boy and his friends have staged his kidnap to demand money from his family in Koupé-Manenguba, Southwest region of Cameroon.
Christian Delord, a student at Manenguba High School left the house on February 13, but did not return.
Very early the following day at 5:00am, her mother was in the field to harvest maize and received a call that Christian had been held captive, and was going to be released upon paying the some of 205,000FRS, TWIF NEWS has learned.
Out of panic, the poor mother stopped harvesting the maize and went in search of money by calling her family members.
A few hours later, the mom received another call pressuring her that the money should have been paid before mid-day or his son was not going to be released.
The mom pleaded that she had requested for money from their community group and was waiting for it.
Upon collecting the money from the community group, other family members raised funds and added which was given to the supposed kidnappers, and Delord was released.
The boy thought the tricks worked, but did not know the forces of law and order had been called to investigate the case.
Finnds finally revealed that Christian was the master planner of his kidnap, and those who made the numerous calls were his friends.
The 20-year-old boy is currently in the Nkongsamba police station for questioning after having having refunded the 205,000FRS ransom.
