Visual impaired Graduates in the Republic for the past weeks have been protesting against continuous discrimination in integrating them into the public sector.
In May 2022 prime minister of the republic, Dion Ngute signed a decree granting age exemption to persons living with disabilities for up to 5 years in public and competitive exams.
This decree also carries the integration of handicapped persons into the public service but must fulfill some conditions one having a disability card. The Arrêté 040 decree signed by Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute on May 19 stipulates states the terms and conditions for the granting of an age exemption in public exams or recruitment into the public service for persons living with disabilities.
The unemployed disabled persons have raised worries about these new adjustments in their lives which are not respected. Some of them complain about writing exams but are not accepted. That they are having certificates and are qualified for some jobs in the public sector but are not granted access. All these dominate their grievances.
Placards, and voices have been raised by them making their frustration to be heard by the appropriate headquarters. Hands are crossed and all eyes are tilted toward the authorities to react to their plea.
